I resonate with you guys as well because I have a few family members who have been an important figure in my life growing up. It's hard to get over the fact that they are no longer in your lives the way they used to be and all you can do I try to stay in touch and hope they are taking care of themselves.

Really enjoyed this interview. It’s always insightful to hear directly from the artist about their process, influences, and how their perspective evolves over time. The way Vincent Cooper describes balancing experimentation with discipline gives a deeper appreciation for the work itself. Conversations like this make the art feel more personal and layered.

The Macondo Writers Workshop connection is also worth noting for anyone unfamiliar, that's Sandra Cisneros' community of socially engaged writers, which speaks to the tradition Cooper is working within and contributing to.
