Basic Description:
Under general supervision of the Executive Director, El Placazo Coordinator is responsible for management, implementation, and coordination of all phases of the production of El Placazo Newspaper, the bi-monthly publication of San Anto Cultural Arts. El Placazo plays a major part of the Mentor Program which places emphasis on youth development by providing skills in all aspects of newspaper production including writing, research, design layout and photo journalism.
Supervision:
Reports to Executive Director.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides assistance with Participant supervision as necessary;
- Monitors project timelines, including staff and team reminders of deadlines;
- Provides mentorship environment to all students who enter EPCN prgoram;
- Assists with distribution of information flyers and newspaper;
- Assists in researching program resources to include supplies, venues, contractors, etc.;
- Assists with recruitment and retention of Participants;
- Creates curriculum for EPCN workshops;
- Writes, posts, and maintains public website, El Placazo On-line website, Facebook, and Twitter in coordination with staff;
- Assists with dedications including budget, invitations, printing, and event reporting;
- Organizes and maintains program filing system to include archiving and maintaining electronic files;
- Provides Participant Data Management System maintenance and oversight;
- Recruits, trains, and supports program volunteers;
- Ensures the absolute security and confidentiality of all records.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills, capacity for prioritizing tasks, and ability to handle a wide range of tasks simultaneously;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player;
- Follows through and meets deadlines;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well with multiple work styles;
- A courteous, professional work style, and ability to handle pressure gracefully;
- Strong Internet and computer skills and proficiency in MS Office -- Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; and social media;
- Outstanding customer service and ensures responses to inquiries are in a timely manner;
- Experience in an office setting (5 years minimum);
- Experience with nonprofits, social services, volunteers, public relations, event planning, and grant writing is preferred;
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred;
- Arts background preferred;
- Bilingual preferred.
Training/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited college/university preferred;
- Experience leading and completing recurring projects on a deadline preferred;
- At least 1 year experience in a teaching environment;
- Ability to communicate with people from varied socio-economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.
