Support our Building Expansion
Many thanks to Virgil Shaw for his designs and support.

Picture
We recently submitted a grant for a building expansion.  The plan is to add between 720 and 1200 square feet to our building.  This would include one large space with a divider that would allow two separate classrooms.  One classroom would be dedicated to the El Placazo Community Newspaper and the other space would be used more as a general workshop for our Mural and Public Art Program.  We would also like to have a roof top deck that can be used for planning sessions.

Picture
The El Placazo classroom would have approximately 15 computers and a video projection system.  We currently only have 3 computers for our Participants.  El Placazo Program plans to provide services to 270 Participants in 2013.

Our Mural and Public Art Program will also have 3 computer stations.  A garage door will be added to accommodate large public art pieces in the works at any given time.  The garage door will also allow the outside in.  The orange wall to the left is the room divider that can be opened to make one large space as in the picture below.

This is a rendering showing the room divider  in an open position.  You can see how the large space can easily be adjust to hold large group meetings or workshops.
