Drive By Press Workshop
Join us at San Anto Cultural Arts as we present printmaker extraordinaire, Joseph Velasquez of Drive By Press. For more than 6 years Joseph and his crew have traveled over 250,000 miles teaching the 800 year old technique of woodblock printing and sharing their unique brand of fine art apparel from coast to coast and back!
During this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn textile printing from one of the greats! Joseph will give a brief overview on woodblock printing and carving techniques. He will also teach participants how to print on textiles. Participants are welcome to use blocks provided by drive-by Press, however they are encouraged to bring their own carved blocks to print. This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels. (no experience is necessary)
Workshop Overview:
Friday 6:30-9:30 pm : Woodblock Carving Presentation
Saturday 12:00-5:00 pm : Printing Demo
The cost of the workshop is $45 dollars for two days.
Space is limited to 15 participant so make sure you sign up early to reserve your spot.
