This mural came about when an organization on the East Side hosted a design contest for a mural honoring Martin Luther King. Juan Ramos led design workshops at San Anto and several local youth submitted designs, but the judging committee selected Ramos’ image. The mural piece was printed and installed above the New Braunfels Street Bridge, and Ramos was awarded at the end of the 1997 MLK March. |
