COMMUNITY MURAL COORDINATOR

Class Title: Community Mural Coordinator
EEO Category: Administrative
Exempt Status: Exempt
Salary range: $31,000-41,600 (30-40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends)

Basic Description:
The Community Mural Coordinator performs a variety of artistic and administrative duties to support the organization and carry out the program.

Supervision:
Reports to Executive Director

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Implementation, management and coordination of all aspects of the Community Mural Program (CMP)
  • Responsible for adhering to the policies, mission statement, goals and objectives set forth by San Anto Cultural Arts, Inc.
  • Must be trained and experienced in all aspects of the mural creation process.
  • Must be able to translate all phases of the mural creation process into educational tools and art projects for the youth/adult participants of the mural program.
  • Must be able to create an arts education curriculum. Experience with the Texas Education Agency educational standards preferred.
  • Must be able to organize and facilitate meetings with community stakeholders.
  • Maintain daily sign-in sheets for program attendees.
  • Conduct student and volunteer outreach at community schools and organizations.
  • Conduct group tours of existing murals (training will be provided).
  • Responsible for the management of the mural project budgets.
  • Compose project update and close-out reports.
  • Design promotional materials for the mural program including flyers and postcards for events.
  • Assist in the coordination of fundraising activities, community events, and special initiatives.
  • Attend monthly board meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • General computer proficiency including knowledge of Internet-based research, email, and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe PhotoShop, and other design software.
  • English language proficiency – speaking, reading and writing. Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the public.
  • Ability to work well with others, multi-task, and problem-solve.
  • Organized and self-motivated.
  • Ability to carry, set up and climb ladders/scaffolding and lift up to 50 lbs.

Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college/university preferred.
  • Experience leading and completing mural projects required.
  • At least 1 year experience in a teaching environment.
  • Ability to communicate with people from varied socio-economic, ethnic and educational backgrounds.

Spends 100% of their time creating, managing, supporting or overseeing artistic and culturalactivities.
