Below is a list of opportunities through which the general community can become involved to help SACA continue to have a positive impact on our City and its residents. San Anto Cultural Arts Underground Music Series - Since its inception, in 1993, San Anto Cultural Arts has held fundraisers at the legendary San Antonio underground music night spot, Tacoland. Tacoland owner, Ramiro "Von Ormy No Good" Ayala has always had an open door policy to any organization, family and cause in need of a venue to host benefits and fundraisers such as BBQ plate sales, rummage sales and, in the case of San Anto Cultural Arts, music benefits. Over the years, San Anto Cultural Arts has traditionally held a Memorial Weekend Benefit Bash in late May and a Fourth of July Underground Rock Festival. For the last three years, the Fourth of July bash had been organized by local musicians Dylan Phillips(Big Drag, The Drips) and Mari Granato (The Drips). Some of the bands that have played these benefits include: Country Giants, Bombadiers, Spot, Cordial, Pre-Madonnas, The Drips,Glorium, Slobber, New Girl Art Trend Band, Jet Jaguar, Cleofus, Trujillo Trio, Chapstick, And They Will Know Us By The Trail of the Dead, Spot, Tonebenders, The Shakewells, Not it, Worm, Boxcar Satan, Golden Arm Trio, Patti and Rod, Chismosa, Sexto Sol, Dakota, Dodge, Lucy Loves Shroeder, Los Crudos, Nothing Rhymes With Orange, El Santo, Gut, Shaft, Labour and many other great punk rock/underground rock bands. Sponsorship of a mural not only ensures the perpetuation of the creation of murals and public art throughout our city, but ensures the education and training of youth and adult participants of our mural project. Sponsorship of a mural or public art piece starts at $1,000. Sponsors will be listed in all publications produced by San Anto Cultural Arts related to the mural project. Sponsors will also be listed on the actual mural. For more information on mural sponsorship, please contact us at consafos@sananto.org. El Placazo Sponsor - By sponsoring an issue (or several issues) of El Placazo Community Newspaper, local businesses, groups, individuals, families, organizations and corporations have an opportunity to take part in the development and education of the youth staff of El Placazo. Sponsorship of an issue of El Placazo will help our organization defer the costs of producing our newspaper on a monthly basis: printing costs, mailing and distribution costs, Teen Mentor stipends, equipment and supplies (dark room, computers, scanners, printers, photography), Coordinator salary. Sponsorship of one months issue of El Placazo starts at $300. For more information on mural sponsorship, please contact us at consafos@sananto.org.
